Collaborating detectives with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) and the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) have arrested a 58-year-old man suspected to be involved in an extensive fraud operation.
According to the January 11, 2025, press release, throughout the course of their investigation, HCSO and SCSO discovered that 58-year-old Isaac Allen was in possession of hundreds of stolen personal identification documents, credit cards, and checks.
Allen had multiple outstanding fraud-related warrants out of Sarasota County already for providing fraudulent information to the state in order to obtain IDs and driver’s licenses, and had managed to elude arrest up to this point by assuming numerous fake identities. However, his scheme eventually caught up with him, and he was arrested on January 10, 2025.
“This case is a testament to the power of collaboration and the dedication required to tackle complex investigations,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “The partnership between our Economic Crimes Section and the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office reflects our shared commitment to bringing justice to those who seek to exploit and defraud our communities. Allen currently faces 22 charges, which are listed as follows:
- Out of County Warrant: Fraud-Impersonation-False Fictitious Name on Driver’s License or ID (X3)
- Out of County Warrant: Possesses Forged Driver’s License (X2)
- Out of County Warrant: Make False Affidavit for a Driver’s License (X7)
- Out of County Warrant: Similitude of Unauthorized Use/Possession of a Driver’s License (X5)
- Out of County Warrant: Fraud-False Statements and Use of False Info Except Date of Birth to Obtain Driver’s License or ID (X3)
- Out of County Warrant: Fraud-Impersonation-False-Fictitious Name on Driver’s License or ID Application
- False Driver’s License
As of publication, the investigation is still active and ongoing. Law enforcement state that they anticipate additional charges to be added onto Allen’s laundry list of fraud as the investigation unfolds.
