A woman who was targeted by her husband in an attempted murder-suicide in Edgewater last weekend has officially been announced as stable from her injuries following the attack.
According to the Volusia Sheriff’s Office (VSO), on Saturday, January 11, 2025, the victim had been shot around 12:17 am on Carol Ann Drive. She was promptly transported to an area hospital in critical condition while her husband was found deceased inside their home.
Further investigation into the crime has uncovered that the woman’s husband shot her following a heated argument before then turning the gun on himself. The VSO state that the couple had no prior reported history of domestic violence.
As of publication, detectives have not released the identities of the couple or the potential circumstances that led up to the argument turned deadly. Additional updates if they become publicly available are set to be released by the VSO’s Office of Public Affairs.
